Young medical student James Heyman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital for a fresh start after a traumatic incident during his residency. Noticing that James is struggling to connect with patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and screen actor Michael Potts) suggests he take a bedside learning class and foster a closer relationship with his patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he is surprised by the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER SOMETIMES ALWAYS) with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, agitated speculations, and physical trauma collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Continuing the legacy of SAINT FRANCES and GHOSTLIGHT, director Alex Thompson assembles a strong ensemble of veteran actors led by this humanistic and unconventional vision of the genre.
